If you’re wondering what Shin Megami Tensei: Persona is. A spinoff of the Megami Tensei Franchise revolving around demons and humans. In this game about high school students in a stereotypical japanese setting wherein they must fight for life using their powers called Persona.
I’ll be telling you all about my experience in the Persona series.
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona was first released in the Playstation back in 1996 first named as Megami Ibunroku Persona in Japan and Revelations: Persona in North America. The North American version of this game was criticized for removing snow queen quest and making Mark black. It was just absurd.
The game tells about a group of students who played the Persona game and it made them Persona users and I don’t know much about this game.
It was shunned by Playstation fans.
In 2009, ATLUS remaked this game for the PSP with a name of Shin Megami Tensei: Persona. It has all the features of the japanese PSOne title now with CGI Cutscenes (dubbed in North America version).
I haven’t played this game yet and a lot of reviews have been telling me that it was a bad game even by Playstation standards. (See picture below)
You explore with a first person viewpoint and they said it’s so bad. Also random battles trigger almost every 4 steps even in the overworld one. And the battle places your team in grids.
This makes me not play this game but I still will play this, since I like Persona 2.

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 2!
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 2 was first called Persona 2 in the PlayStation back in 1999. In 2011 and 2012, it added a Shin Megami Tensei name when it was ported to the PSP. Persona 2 is divided into two games, Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment. I only played the former. But I’m looking forward to playing the latter. The PSP Version of Innocent Sin added the Climax Theater wherein you can play sidequest made by the creators of Persona themselves. The PSP Version of Eternal Punishment added a new story about Tatsuya, the protagonist in Innocent Sin. Unfortunately Eternal Punishment is a japanese PSP title and it will never cross america. But the PSN version is there but no Tatsuya story.
Innocent Sin is about Tatsuya Suou, a silent guy, whose school’s emblem has been cursed and that every rumor in their city of Sumaru comes true.
Eternal Punishment is about Maya Amano, a writer of the magazine COOLEST, who is investigating about the doings of Joker.
Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment are different dimensions. The happenings of Innocent Sin never happened in Eternal Punishment.
Many reviews said that they loved the story of both games but the visuals still made the liftings.

Shin Megami Tensei was released in 2007 in Playstation 2. In 2008, the FES version of Persona 3 was released for the PS2. It continued the story from the ending of Persona 3 now with Aigis as main lead. In 2010, the Portable version was released for the PSP, it introduces a female route and gameplay of Persona 4.
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 is about high schools students whose schools turns into a labyrinth called Tartarus at a time called the Dark Hour. They use evokers to summon their Persona.
I have played the portable version only and that was one of the best PSP games I’d ever played!
Reviews said that they love Persona 3 and it was the beginning of the Persona series reaching cloud nine. But they didn’t liked the gameplay of the game, because they hate Mitsuru’s obsession with Marin Karin. In the portable version, players were given free will with the characters and Mitsuru but they removed the anime scenes and made it like a visual novel.

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 is the latest game in the Persona Series excluding Persona 4 Arena. It was released in PS2 back in 2008. In 2012, a Playstation Vita version was released, with new cutscenes, costumes, attacks, personas, and new epilogues called Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4: Golden.
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 is about high school students that are battling inside a TV in Midnight called Midnight Channel. Whoever is in the TV every rainy day, will die! unless saved by them. Inside the Midnight Channel, this group of students will be finding the truth.
I played the PS2 version of this game and it was lovely!
Reviews said that it is the best Persona game yet. It has minor issues but It is awesome nonetheless.
